I thought I’d go with a more playful list today. It felt easier with my vulnerability hangover (thank you Brené Brown for that term) from yesterday’s inaugural list and because I LOVE AUDIOBOOKS SO MUCH!

I never feel like I have time to read and I fall asleep the minute I sit or lay down, which is why I’m such an audiobook fan.

A few things about my audiobook preferences:
I’m not super intellectual or literary in my read-listening. It’s often just another way for me to experience romantic comedies, basically.

I love a happy ending.

I’m a big fan of vivid steamy scenes as part of a great overall story (so it’s not the focus, but it’s an excellent part of the book), especially ones that speak to what women tend to find pleasurable, instead of focusing on totally inaccurate depictions we see in movies and some books.

Educated is an exception – it’s a memoir, doesn’t have a super happy ending exactly and it’s not a love story nor are there sx elements, really. It’s just SO GOOD, though.

I also like books that have less often represented lead characters. Some of these books have lead characters with autism, people who are plus-sized, Vietnamese, Black, and that speak to dating across differences.

So if you like some of the same things I do in an audiobook, you might find some you enjoy on this list!

I’d LOVE to hear your favorite audiobooks too! (I borrow them from the library on the Libby app – it’s amazing and free!)
