When I started my business in 2008, I had no idea what I was doing. It was an answer to a voice in my heart while sitting at a cafe in Bend, Oregon – talking with my two best friends who were classmates in the Master’s in Counseling program we were attending.
In one moment, very unexpectedly, I knew I was going to quit the Master’s program and begin a new business… but I had no idea what that business would be and how I would do it.
I’m no overnight success (if there is such a thing). I struggled for too many years, buying huge high-ticket courses, hiring more and more expensive coaches, experts and consultants. I was trying really hard to do it right – and it was both frustrating and expensive.
To be clear, many of those investments eventually paid off overall. I get to run a successful coaching & professional development company today, and much of what I learned, I learned through those investments. I’m not saying there isn’t a place for intensive programs with higher price tags…
But the truth is, if I’d known where to get specific & practical training from an expert who understood what I was trying to do, I’m confident that I would’ve seen greater success faster.
